Reports and guidelines
Our Reports and Guidelines section offers comprehensive documents that are essential for understanding the pathways and progress in the field of clean energy, net zero emmisions and CCUS technologies deployment. These resources provide in-depth analyses, case studies, and strategic roadmaps that highlight current advancements, identify challenges, and propose actionable solutions.
CCUS Roadmap to 2030
The CCUS Roadmap to 2030 aims to identify and stress the actions that will be necessary for the large-scale development and deployment of CCS and CCU in the 2020s, build on the work done within the CCUS SET-Plan, and provide an overview of the status of the technologies today. The roadmap also includes a list of actions to be taken by European and national policymakers to underpin the European development of CCS and CCU
Tracking Clean Energy Progress (TCEP) 2023
The IEA's Tracking Clean Energy Progress (TCEP) assesses recent developments for over 50 components of the energy system that are critical for clean energy transitions. The components assessed include sectors, subsectors, technologies, infrastructure and cross-cutting strategies.
Net Zero Emissions by 2050: A Roadmap for the Global Energy Sector 2023
In May 2021, the International Energy Agency (IEA) published its landmark report Net Zero Emissions by 2050: A Roadmap for the Global Energy Sector. The report set out a narrow but feasible pathway for the global energy sector to contribute to the Paris Agreement’s goal of limiting the rise in global temperatures to 1.5 °C above pre-industrial levels. The Net Zero Roadmap quickly became an important benchmark for policy makers, industry, the financial sector and civil society. It has recently been updated (2023).
CCS in Europe – Regional Overview
This report provides an overview of EU funds that can support CCS deployment, and also serves as a guide for CCS project developers interested in accessing funds by highlighting award criteria, funding rate, funding success stories and other relevant information.
Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage in the European Union
This report published in October 2023 and developed by the Joint Research Centre, looks at the current technology status, value chains, and market positions of carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS) technologies.
