Associations

The push for sustainable solutions to combat climate change is more critical than ever, and several key organizations are leading the way. This section highlights leading organizations dedicated to advancing within this field of achieving climate neutrality.

Carbon Capture & Storage Association (CCSA)

The Carbon Capture & Storage Association (CCSA) was launched in March 2006 to represent the interests of its members in promoting the business of capture and geological storage of carbon dioxide (known as Carbon Capture and Storage, or CCS) as a means of abating atmospheric emissions of carbon dioxide and tackling climate change.

As a non-technical trade association, the CCSA is unique in its focus on the business side of CCS and efforts to ensure commercial-scale CCS projects can play a part in moving towards a low-carbon global economy. To this end, the Association benefits from a close working relationship with the UK Government and European Commission in developing an appropriate regulatory framework for CCS and influencing policy developments on an international level.

European Biogas Association (EBA)

The European Biogas Association is the leading European non-governmental organisation promoting renewable gas in Europe. European Biogas Association (EBA) was founded in February 2009 as a Belgian non-profit organisation aiming to promote the deployment of sustainable biogas production and use in Europe. This covers all energetic applications of biogas like heat, electricity and automotive fuel.

CO2 Value

CO2 Value Europe is an international and non-profit association representing the entire Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU) value chain in Europe. The Association brings together more than 90 organisations worldwide from diverse sectors (including industries, start-ups, universities, research and technology organisations, and regional clusters), and develops a large network of many more organisations and individuals who share the vision that CCU technologies are necessary to help the EU reach climate targets.

Carbon Capture & Storage Europe

CCS Europe is an advocacy and communications body supported by technology providers, project developers, industry and environmental NGOs, who share a commitment to achieve significant reductions in CO2 emissions.

CCS Europe’s objective is to secure recognition of the urgent need to deploy carbon capture technologies to curb CO2 emissions from industrial sources and reduce CO2 already within the atmosphere.
